This
is the description of a seven-day trek that makes a
circuit of the Helambu region. The easiest starting
point for this trek is Sundarijal because of its
proximity to Kathmandu.
We
can make the trek in either direction, because it closes
a loop from Pati Bhanjyang, The preferred route is
clockwise as we have described here; first visiting the
high ridge to the west of Helambu Valley, then heading
to Tarke Gyang and descending the Malemchi Khola before
climbing back to Pati Bhanjyang. There are all kinds of
other possible variations, including a direct route to
Tarke Gyang from Pati Bhanjying, than down the ridge
through Shermathang, ending at Melumchi bazar. The
Helambu trek is an easy trek to organize & low
elevation. You do not need much warm clothing. This
area is non-tourist area & will know more about
Sherpa cultures.
