We fly
to Pokhara a bustling town set beneath the beautiful
Machhapuchhare or Fishtail Mountain (22,942 ft) and the
Annapurna Himal. Our trek follows the rim of the Pokhara
valley with superb views of the snow capped mountains
stretching away into the distance. We follow trade
routes from village to village along ridgeline paths.
Often stopping for tea at local lodges and just sitting
and admiring the stunning scenery. The path runs between
intricately terraced fields of wheat and maize with
thatched houses dotting the scene. Temperatures are
often hot and an umbrella is well worth the investment
to act as a sunshade ! There are several small sections
of steep climbs but generally the paths are very easy
and plenty of time is allowed for the steeper sections.
Easy.
With good paths, lower altitude, warm days and plenty of
tea houses this is an ideal way to relax and take things
easy and still say you have been to the Himalayas !! 4 -
5 hours walking, plenty of time for rests make this a
good choice for those not wanting to rush things and
enjoy a gentler trek. |
